The Role
Drive strategic insight, rankings excellence and high‑impact projects
London Business School (LBS) is seeking an experienced Senior Rankings and Project Manager to play a pivotal role within the Deputy Dean’s Office. This is a highly visible role supporting strategic planning, academic projects and the School’s performance in global rankings, working closely with senior leadership, faculty and professional services colleagues.
As Senior Rankings and Project Manager, you will support the Director of Strategic Planning and the Deputy Dean across a wide portfolio of strategic and tactical projects.
A core element of the role is responsibility for rankings activity across Degree Education, working closely with the Associate Dean, Degree Education on rankings strategy, data submission and performance analysis. You will also provide central support on strategy development, project delivery and ad‑hoc initiatives that cut across the School.
This role requires confidence working with senior stakeholders and faculty, strong analytical capability, and excellent project management skills.
The Strategic Planning team sits within the Deputy Dean’s Office and supports Degree Education, Digital Learning and Quality Assurance. The team is responsible for departmental strategic planning, project leadership across the Deputy Dean’s remit, academic‑focused initiatives, and market research and insight.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Degree Education rankings activity, including data collection, submission and analysis
- Work closely with the Associate Dean, Degree Education on rankings strategy and insights
- Support the Director of Strategic Planning and Deputy Dean on strategic and operational projects
- Provide project leadership and delivery support across initiatives within the Deputy Dean’s remit
- Undertake market research, benchmarking and insight to inform academic and strategic decision making
- Prepare high quality briefings, analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Collaborate across Degree Education, Digital Learning, Quality Assurance and central teams
- Respond to ad hoc strategic requests requiring discretion, judgement and analytical rigour
Who we are looking for
- Significant experience in strategic planning, project management, analytics or a related role
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into insight
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in a complex organisation
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, senior level outputs
- High levels of attention to detail, discretion and professionalism
- Experience working in higher education, professional services or a similarly complex environment (desirable)
- Experience with rankings, benchmarking or performance metrics (highly desirable)
