Dev Ops Engineer

The Role

Help shape modern DevOps practices at a world-leading business school

London Business School are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to help shape, implement and continuously improve DevOps practices across our technology estate.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and delivery-focused engineer who enjoys building reliable platforms, improving automation and enabling high-quality software delivery at scale.

You will be responsible for shaping, implementing and continuously improving DevOps practices across the LBS technology estate.

This role combines strategic platform thinking with hands-on engineering, ensuring that development teams can build, test, deploy and operate solutions reliably, securely and efficiently.

Working closely with Architecture, Integration, Delivery Managers, Engineering teams and BAU support, you will ensure our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, observability tooling and release processes enable predictable, high-quality delivery.

Main Responsibilities

  • Shape and enhance DevOps practices across the technology estate.
  • Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient software delivery.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve build, test, deployment and operational practices.
  • Support the design and management of cloud infrastructure in Azure.
  • Implement and improve monitoring, logging and alerting frameworks.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code approaches, including tools such as Terraform.
  • Embed security into cloud and pipeline configurations.
  • Support release processes and improve delivery predictability.
  • Collaborate across Architecture, Integration, Engineering and support teams to enable consistent ways of working.
  • Contribute to modernising legacy release processes and tooling where needed.

Who we are looking for

  • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and implementation.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, for example Terraform.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging and alerting frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Git branching strategies and version control.
  • Experience embedding security into cloud and pipeline configurations.
  • Experience working across multiple delivery teams in complex environments.

At London Business School, we support Smart Working - a hybrid approach designed to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance while delivering the best outcomes for your role and the needs of our customers. All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week to foster a vibrant, collaborative community.

For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus 2 days per week.

We operate with ‘core hours’ – 10:00-15:00 – to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, we offer Protected Time - a flexible, one-hour slot, within the working week dedicated to your learning and development, wellbeing, or focused, quiet work
