Accounts Payable Officer
The Role

London Business School are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team and help deliver accurate, timely and compliant purchase ledger services across the School.
This is a great opportunity for someone with purchase ledger experience who enjoys working in a structured, high-volume environment and providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices independently for assigned business areas.
- Ensure invoices are coded correctly, matched to purchase orders where required, and approved in line with policy.
- Ensure all payments are accurate, timely and compliant with internal controls and supplier terms.
- Act as the main point of contact for supplier queries relating to invoices, statements, payments and discrepancies.
- Prepare and review the weekly BACS payment run or equivalent payment methods.
- Process employee expense uploads and corporate / purchase card transactions.
- Conduct monthly reviews of creditor accounts, including identifying and resolving debit balances.
Who we are looking for
- Bookkeeping, AAT Level 2 / 3, or equivalent qualification or significant relevant experience.
- Strong working knowledge of standard IT applications and finance systems; experience with TechnologyOne is advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience in a high-volume purchase ledger environment.
- Experience working within structured financial processes and controls.
- Comfortable managing routine tasks while handling more complex queries independently.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using sound judgement to resolve issues with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

At London Business School, we support Smart Working - a hybrid approach designed to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance while delivering the best outcomes for your role and the needs of our customers. All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week to foster a vibrant, collaborative community.
For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus 2 days per week.
We operate with ‘core hours’ – 10:00-15:00 – to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs.
