Test Lead (Aware to Admit)

The Role

Fixed Term contract until July 2027

Shape the future of student experience: lead quality assurance for a transformational, School‑wide technology programme

The A2A Test Lead will provide programme‑level ownership of quality across multiple delivery waves within the Aware to Admit transformation. You will ensure that every wave is underpinned by a clear, proportionate and risk‑based testing approach, and that integration, data and business process changes are fully validated before release into live operation.

Operating across workstreams rather than within a single sprint team, you will bring structure, clarity and governance to all testing activities – making sure that quality is designed into delivery, not just assessed at the end.

This is a pivotal role, providing independent oversight, challenge and assurance to protect the integrity and outcomes of the A2A programme

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the A2A test strategy, standards and governance framework across all workstreams.
  • Design risk based test approaches for each wave, covering functional, integration, data, regression and non functional testing.
  • Define and agree test plans, entry/exit criteria and acceptance criteria with delivery leads, product owners and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring business engagement and clear defect triage and resolution.
  • Provide programme level visibility of test progress, quality metrics, defects and risks through high quality reporting and dashboards.
  • Assure third party and vendor testing activities, ensuring alignment with LBS standards and programme objectives.
  • Champion best practice in test design, automation opportunities and shift left quality across agile and hybrid delivery teams.
  • Contribute to go live readiness assessments and post implementation reviews, ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied

Who we are looking for

  • Significant experience as a Test Lead or Senior Test Analyst on complex, multi workstream programmes (ideally in higher education, CRM, admissions, student lifecycle or similar transformation).
  • Strong background in defining and implementing test strategies, governance and reporting at programme level.
  • Proven ability to work across agile and hybrid delivery models, collaborating with product owners, developers, business analysts and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of risk based testing, UAT coordination and non functional assurance.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and provide clear recommendations.
  • A structured, analytical mindset and a commitment to high standards of quality and user experience.
