Social Media Manager

The Role

Are you an experienced Social Media Manager that can develop creative and engaging content for professional audiences and use it to increase engagement with target communities?

 

At a very exciting time for our Advancement team we are looking for a Social Media Manager to join us. The role is responsible for planning, creating and managing effective social media communications with the School’s donor and alumni community, focusing on LinkedIn presence. As London Business School prepares to embark on its most ambitious fundraising Campaign to date, this position will play a key role planning, producing and managing social content which engages and inspires the LBS community.

You will be a strong team player and will have the ability to adapt to changing situations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an Advancement social media content calendar (with initial focus on LinkedIn).
  • Proactively identify opportunities for relevant social activities and ensure content is complimentary to other channel content. 
  • Spot useful ‘unplanned’ opportunities as they arise and respond/ leverage appropriately in a timely manner. 
  • Build engagement with alumni on social channels by responding to alumni posts and comments, or guiding relevant staff to do so. 
  • Contribute to status and planning meetings with stakeholders across Advancement and Brand and Marketing. 
  • Work with the  Brand and Marketing team to create social media assets.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice appropriate to the author/poster, and optimised for the intended channel  

Who we are looking for

  • Good copywriting skills with the ability to create engaging content
  • A deep understanding of engagement with professional audiences (senior level)
  • An innovative thinker with a self-starter approach.
  •  Ability to use creative tools such as Canva, photo editing and basic video editing tools, with a good eye for visual impact of content. 
  • Highly proficient English language skills – written and spoken and keen eye for detail, with the ability to communicate effectively with a mature, business practitioner audience. 
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
