The Role
Department of Economics, London Business School
The Department of Economics at London Business School is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant for a project on foreign exchange markets and firms.
The post will be under the direct supervision of Professor Hélène Rey and Professor Vania Stavrakeva.
Main Responsibilities
The initial stage of the project will require 3 full days of work per week until completion of the project (approximately 21 hours per week for 4 months). It is very likely that after that point the hours will be extended on a rolling basis depending on further research needs.
Who we are looking for
The Research Assistant should have experience working with large data sets and multiple data sources and should be very comfortable with Stata. Experience with machine learning, data scrapping, textual analysis and the relevant softwares is very desirable and so is some interest/knowledge in international finance/finance/econometrics.
The successful candidate will be a Master or PhD student from a leading institution either in computer science, data science or economics.

The ideal starting date is late November 2020 with some flexibility. The pay will be at the rate of £20 per hour (research assistance rate).
