Electrical Tradesperson

The Role

Do you want to work in a department where no two days are the same?

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will bring electrical installation and maintenance experience and expertise to the London Business School, making sure we always stay switched on and able to meet the needs of our students and staff. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will operate across campus responding to emergencies and proactively improving our facilities. 

This role operates on a shift basis, consisting of early and late shifts which alternate weekly, as well as 1 weekend day per month. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Report to the Building Services Manager/Estates Helpdesk on a daily basis regarding progress or completion of assigned responsibilities including prioritising outstanding tasks.
  • Complete electrical maintenance activities around campus, from responding to breakdowns to completing planned maintenance work.
  • Be a point of call for electrical related contractors.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance inspections and associated works.
  • Operate manual or computerized record keeping control systems.
  • Ensure a high quality of finished workmanship.

Who we are looking for

  • Electrical Qualification is a requirement of this role, minimum Level 3 NVQ and 18th Edition.
  • Experience working within a Maintenance Team.
  • Experience rectifying issues with lighting & emergency lighting, as well as installation.
  • Experience working with both 230V and 400V power.
  • Competent knowledge of BMS (ideal but not essential), and experience using CAFM systems.
  • Experience using CAFM systems.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to address a variety of stakeholders.
  • Great attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Excellent team working skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.

For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus full time, 5 days per week.

We operate with ‘core hours’ – 10:00-15:00 – to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, we offer Protected Time - a flexible, one-hour slot, within the working week dedicated to your learning and development, wellbeing, or focused, quiet work
