Education Technologist (Systems & Data Focus)

The Role

Are you data literate with a sound understanding of data management?

London Business School are excited to be recruiting for a data focused Education Technologist to join Degree Education on a permanent basis.

The Education Technologist will support the annual rollout of courses on Canvas and provide guidance, technical support and training on the appropriate use of Canvas to support learning, teaching and assessment. The postholder will support attendance monitoring systems and process, and manage and contribute to a range of projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with the Technology Team on the annual course rollover process, including the integration with the School's student admin system
  • Set up programme and course areas in the LMS and ensure that they meet Degree Education's minimum standards and structure
  • Monitor data imports and liaise with Technology to help troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Respond to edtech and attendance support queries from staff, faculty and students
  • Understand individual subject area and programme educational technology needs
  • Review roadmap for Canvas and other educational technology tools, review new features and assess value for LBS making recommendations for implementation
  • Ensure data is managed, stored and archived securely and in line with best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Undertake data analysis, developing recommendations to inform planning and decision making to create a more effective student/participant experience

Who we are looking for

  • Data literacy and understanding of data management.
  • Proven VLE/LMS experience (e.g Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle).
  • Proven experience of working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL
  • An awareness of key challenges implementing education technologies in Higher Education institutions or equivalent organisations.
    Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, excellent organisation skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven experience of working in Higher Education administration or environment.
  • Any Python experience is preferable but not essential.

All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week to foster a vibrant, collaborative community.

For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus around 2 days per week with the need for flexibility based on business need. 

We operate with ‘core hours’ – 10:00-15:00 – to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, we offer Protected Time - a flexible, one-hour slot, within the working week dedicated to your learning and development, wellbeing, or focused, quiet work
