Development Manager, Leadership Giving
The Role
London Business School is looking for a Development Manager, Leadership Giving to join our Advancement team. This is a frontline fundraising role focused on securing gifts of £1,000–£50,000, primarily in support of the LBS Fund, while helping to identify and cultivate a small pipeline of future Leadership Giving and Major Gift prospects.
Reporting to the Director, Annual Giving, you will manage a portfolio of existing donors and prospects, follow up on appeal and mass outreach responses, and deliver an excellent supporter experience through thoughtful stewardship and relationship management.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and refine a portfolio of active and undiscovered donors and prospects to qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward in line with School priorities.
- Secure gifts of £1k–£50kand pledges of £5k+, contributing to annual income targets.
- Build long-term relationships with current and prospective supporters, creating opportunities for multi-year giving (restricted and unrestricted).
- Work with Prospect Research and Data colleagues to identify and qualify prospects and move them through the pipeline efficiently.
- Attend School and institute events to build networks with alumni, faculty and senior leaders and identify future senior-level prospects.
Who we are looking for
- Demonstrable experience in individual fundraising and/or annual giving, ideally within higher education (or a comparable relationship-led environment).
- A track record of closing multiple gifts in the range £1,000–£50,000£1,000–£50,000.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence influencing and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied portfolio and competing deadlines.
- Professionalism, discretion and integrity when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Confidence using MS Office and databases/CRMs (experience with Raiser’s Edge is desirable).

For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus 2 days per week.

Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs.
