Associate Director, Employer Engagement

The Role

Shape global employer partnerships at a world‑leading business school

London Business School (LBS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director, Employer Engagement to lead and evolve our global employer engagement strategy. This is a senior leadership role within the Career Centre, responsible for building world‑class employer relationships that deliver outstanding career outcomes for students and alumni across all experience levels.

As Associate Director, Employer Engagement, you will lead the Employer Engagement function and shape its strategic direction to meet the evolving needs of students, alumni and employers.

You will be responsible for aligning employer engagement activity with the wider Career Centre and School strategy, ensuring a coherent, inclusive and data‑informed approach across all programmes and experience levels.

As a member of the Career Centre Leadership Team, you will contribute to cross‑team initiatives, represent the Career Centre at senior forums, and lead projects that support strategic objectives and core business activity.

The Career Centre sits within Degree Education and supports students and alumni across all programmes, from early‑career graduates to highly experienced executives. Its mission is to connect talent with opportunity, equip individuals to navigate the labour market, and optimise long‑term relationships between the LBS community and employers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve the overall Employer Engagement strategy to deliver market leading opportunities for students and alumni
  • Manage and develop a world class Employer Engagement team, ensuring strong performance, capability and sector expertise
  • Ensure LBS employer engagement activity and brand remain competitive with top global business schools
  • Oversee international employer engagement strategy, including dotted line leadership of a business development headcount in Dubai
  • Work closely with Career Management and Design & Analytics teams to deliver timely employer insights, events and advisory services
  • Build deep expertise in UK and international labour markets, sharing insights on future skills and recruitment trends
  • Represent the Career Centre on committees, boards and cross School projects to raise its profile and impact
  • Lead and support cross team initiatives and strategic projects within the Career Centre

Who we are looking for

  • Significant senior level experience in employer engagement, business development, partnerships or a related field
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and inspire high performing teams
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international labour markets and recruitment trends
  • Experience building and sustaining senior employer relationships across multiple sectors
  • Strong strategic thinking, project leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to operate credibly with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working in higher education, executive education or a similarly complex environment (desirable)

At London Business School, we support Smart Working - a hybrid approach designed to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance while delivering the best outcomes for your role and the needs of our customers. All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week to foster a vibrant, collaborative community.

For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus 2 days per week.

We operate with ‘core hours’ – 10:00-15:00 – to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, we offer Protected Time - a flexible, one-hour slot, within the working week dedicated to your learning and development, wellbeing, or focused, quiet work
